Ma, the founder of Alibaba and Ant Group, has reportedly not been seen in public in two months, including not appearing as a judge in the final of his own TV show, Africa’s Business Heroes. Ma, the former richest person in China and currently ranked 25 in Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index with an estimated net worth of more than $50bn, was due to appear in the November season finale of the entrepreneurial television contest, but was replaced by Lucy Peng, an executive at Alibaba—China’s biggest e-commerce company....

Rural pharmacists were the hardest hit as 9,654 independent drug stores closed nationwide from 2009 to 2015. But one in four pharmacies in low-income areas in large cities closed, leaving only national pharmacy chains like CVS or Walgreens in the area. “Independent pharmacies are often excluded from preferred pharmacy networks and 340B [drug pricing] contracts, which are both increasingly important aspects of the pharmacy market, so it is not surprising that independent stores are at greater risk for closure,” said senior study author Dima Mazen Qato, an associate professor of pharmacy systems, outcomes and policy at the UIC College of Pharmacy....

Ashli Babbitt, 35, was among five people who lost their lives in connection with the events on January 6 when armed insurrectionists stormed into the Capitol building to stop lawmakers from certifying the results of the presidential election. Babbitt, a U.S. Air Force Gulf War veteran from San Diego, was killed by an officer who fired a single shot from inside the Speaker’s Lobby as she climbed through a broken window in the building....

The country was originally supposed to host the tournament but an economic crisis leading to fuel shortages and political instability led to a change in the venue. SLC are still the tournament’s hosts but officials are awaiting a nod from the sports ministry to travel to the UAE to make logistical and operational arrangements for the Asia Cup. Without this approval, they will not be able to make these arrangements and may lose hosting rights....

Uzbekistan defeated Bangladesh 3-0 with goals coming in from Uriboev Zabikhillo in the 23’, Khamdamov Dostonbek 57’, Alibaev Ikromjon 66’. The Uzbeks dominated the game with 73% possession and Bangladesh did not get a chance to strike once on the Uzbek’s goal. The second game in the group pitted Qatar (98) against Thailand (122), which ended in a 1-1 draw. Qatar scored as early as the 6’ through Shehata Hazem, and Thailand were able to equalize in the injury time late in the second half through substitute Chaided Supachai 90’+2 strike....

APT Taiwan The series started on 20th of February and has a total of 23 tournaments scheduled till 3rd of March. The Main Event saw three starting flights, attracting 523 entries. Taking a cue from the other northeastern states, Assam too has taken a giant leap with the announcement of its baby league, which will be organised by Sportscraft Management and Guwahati City FC in association with the Assam Football Association. The league will come under the umbrella of the All India Football Federation’s ambitious Baby League project and is registered in the Baby League app. The GGBL hopes to provide kids aged between six and 13 a platform to develop their football talent by organising competitive matches....
