YouTube streamer Hayete Bahadori finished their adventure through Assassin’s Creed Valhalla on April 11, concluding his nine-month journey to complete each mainline Assassin’s Creed title without taking any damage. Bahadori’s difficult Assassin’s Creed challenge began on October 16, 2021, when he tackled the oldest release in the franchise after successfully finishing Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order without taking damage. Because the early titles don’t offer different difficulty options, Bahadori does standard playthroughs of the Assassin’s Creed games up until Origins, the first game that allows the YouTuber to make things even more difficult.

Hayete Bahadori set very specific rules for himself to follow in the Assassin’s Creed zero damage challenge, most obviously the health bar is limited to 100% capacity. No reloads or restarts were taken in completing the titles that were released between Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood and Assassin’s Creed Syndicate in order to gain a gameplay benefit from all levels being fully synchronized. Having experience with the Assassin’s Creed games prior to this challenge, Bahadori prepared for the zero damage run by identifying harder sections and using tools that help minimize risks like the smoke bomb, hook blade, and the rope dart.
This playthrough of all the main Assassin’s Creed titles wasn’t without failures as some games had to be reset multiple times, notably Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, which had frequent bugs. Most of the Assassin’s Creed games took Bahadori around 100 hours to complete without taking damage, while Assassin’s Creed 4 took 250 hours and Valhalla required 800 hours, with some challenges coming down to luck. One section of Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood features Ezio using the Apple of Eden and relies entirely on luck as crossbow attacks will hit a vulnerable Ezio, forcing repeated resets.
According to Hayete Bahadori, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey was the best in the series for this challenge as Ubisoft doesn’t include unavoidable player damage in the game, while the first title was too “camera reliant.” Assassin’s Creed Valhalla offered the best combat for Bahadori, and Assassin’s Creed Unity had the best Stealth according to the YouTube streamer. With more Assassin’s Creed titles coming out in the future, it’s currently unclear if Bahadori intends to maintain his zero damage challenge in future installments.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is available now for Google Stadia, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
