Outside of that, the future of the Assassin’s Creed series has seen no shortage of speculation and rumors. While Ubisoft has confirmed the existence of Assassin’s Creed Infinity, not much is known about the title or when it could possibly arrive, though according to rumors, the series could be getting a smaller release first known only as Assassin’s Creed Rift. If the reports are true, players would be playing as Basim Ibn Ishaq, a unique and complex supporting character last seen in Valhalla. With so many questions left to be answered, fans may finally get a glimpse of what’s next as soon as tomorrow.

Seemingly out of the blue, the official Assassin’s Creed Twitter account announced that it will be hosting a celebration livestream for the popular franchise. The event kicks off on the official Ubiosft YouTube and Twitch channels on June 14 at 9am PST. Unfortunately, there were no additional details or context to go off of, leaving the fan base to speculate as to what Ubisoft is preparing to show. The background image used in the announcement features just about every protagonist from the series from Altair and Ezio, to more modern characters like Kassandra and Eivor.
Most fans in the comments agree that the event will contain at least a few announcements, though not many can agree on what exactly. Some have speculated that older games in the franchise will also be getting a next gen patch, while other fans are sure that Assassin’s Creed Rift will finally be revealed. Assassin’s Creed Infinity was also a hot topic, with many hoping to finally get a glimpse at Ubisoft’s next ambitious project.
While the details are still slim on just what Infinity is, Ubisoft appears to be positioning it as a live service title in a similar vein to Destiny 2, where the game continues to grow and evolve over time, instead of releasing new iterations every couple of years. While some fear that this could truly be a nail in the coffin of how the classic games played, there has been no shortage of speculation that the Assassin’s Creed Infinity service could include different games, modes, and possibly remakes of older games, all under one umbrella where players could access them. As ambitious as that sounds, many are hoping to finally get answers tomorrow during the Assassin’s Creed celebration livestream.
