The idea of being the leader of a group of assassins, to train them and send them into battle, is an intriguing concept. Does this mean we should expect more than an action game this time around? The term leadership conjures the more of a strategy style, and definitely doesn’t coincide with the solo assassination gameplay we’ve come to expect from Assassin’s Creed.

Ubisoft doesn’t explain leadership as a mechanic though, but more of a direction for the story. So perhaps we should expect more of the typical Assassin’s Creed gameplay, but Ezio has to prove himself as a leader, or work as the point-man for a team rather than provide actual commands.

Recruiting your own team of assassins seems reminiscent of Mass Effect 2’s, and I sincerely hope this is Ubisoft’s goal. If the character we’ve seen for Brotherhood’s multiplayer, such as the Doctor, the Courtesan and the Executioner, are actual characters in the game which you can recruit, it would blow my mind! It wouldn’t be the same as Tali, Thane and the rest, but it would still be a great move. Perhaps I’m getting too excited though.

Or perhaps you could care less about the single player aspects of Brotherhood, instead focusing on the multiplayer currently approaching beta, and the sweet skins you can acquire through preordering the game. Not a bad thing at all.
