Yesterday, we reported the announcement of Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, where players take control of Ezio Auditore da Firenze once again - leaving Florence and Venice behind with his eyes fixed on Rome.

In anticipation of the next installment, Ubisoft has been posting on Facebook from the perspective of the Templar Dr. Warren Vidic:

The hint, along with the leaked image below, fits perefectly with previous Assassin’s Creed rumors, and definitely hinted at an upcoming announcement - which has now been confirmed by Ubisoft:

It’s difficult to know exactly how deep the Assassin’s Creed viral campaign will be - was the message from Vidic just a minor tease for the upcoming announcement? Or the beginning of something much larger?

As for Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, in general, the idea of multiplayer is certain enticing - but will players have forgiven Ubisoft for their recent DLC  strategy (that more or less filled in missing content from the main game).

Assassin’s Creed 2 was well recieved by gamers and critics, winning multiple awards - and I for one agree completely with the acclaim. Yes the payed DLC was a bit of a low blow on Ubisoft’s part but I loved the game so much that I let it slide. All the same Ubisoft please don’t pull that kind of… stuff… again. Thanks.

So there you have it folks more Ezio coming soon and he’s brought along a few friends. I’m exited, anything that gets me back into the world of Italy and assassins is fine by me.

Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood does not have an official release date but will be available for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC
