For the unaware, Ashes of Creation is still in development, but is promising an innovative, player-influenced experience. The node system adapts based on player actions, allowing players to turn a wilderness into a metropolis.

Sharif’s letter starts with a look back on 2020, reflecting on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Intrepid Studios workplace. Thankfully, the team was able to avoid major pandemic-induced delays that have been affecting the industry, and development has been going smoothly. A major milestone the team reached was the first Alpha One pre-test, which saw thousands of players experience the world of Verra for the first time.

Sharif also toyed around with the possibility of letting more prospective players experience the Alpha. Currently, fans can only buy into access for the Beta Two phase. Interestingly, in the upcoming Alpha One Pre-test 3 in March, players will no longer be bound by an NDA. One can expect a bunch more information about the game to come out around that time.

Thousands of players have already been able to enjoy the game since the beginning of Ashes of Creation’s Alpha One playtesting. It’s a safe bet that the Beta will be sometime this year as well, but nothing is confirmed. In the meantime, fans will be eagerly awaiting more updates through 2021.

Ashes of Creation is currently in development.
